Q&A: Can i have plants in fish tank widout light?
Question by : Can i have plants in fish tank widout light?
I am planning to have a Java fern n anubias in my goldfish tank. I heard that these plants r pretty hardy n require less light than other plants. I was thinking that if i could have these plants without keeping a lighting system in my aquarium. My room is pretty bright so whole day my aquarium is exposed to considerable amount of light. Or is it that they need light for whole 24 hours? If so how do these plants survive in the sea or ocean where there is no artificial light at night?

Probably not..
They survive outside because of this thing called the Sun, which is VERY bright. Compare sunlight to the light in your room, it’s probably 100X brighter.
They are low light plants, and can survive with a relatively small amount of light, but normal room lighting is not usually enough.
